What salary can a graphic designer expect?
In India, roughly 3–8 LPA at mid-level in-house and 10–18 LPA at senior or art-director level; agency pay generally trails in-house. The US band is about $50,000–$80,000, the UK £26,000–£45,000. Designers who moved into product or motion work sit above traditional print and brand roles.
Is graphic design being replaced by AI tools?
Production work is being compressed — resizing, variations, stock composition. What has held value is the judgement before the artwork: what the piece needs to do, for whom, and why one direction serves that better than another. Portfolios that show only finished visuals compete with a tool; ones that show reasoning do not.
Should I specialise or stay general?
