Only if you stay in tier one. Support is one of the most reliable entry points into technical work — people move into implementation, solutions engineering, product and QA regularly, because they finish the first year knowing the product better than most engineers do.
What makes a support application stand out?
Evidence that you reduced work rather than absorbed it. A documentation page that cut repeat tickets, or a macro that saved the team hours a week, outperforms any statement about being a people person.
