What the data shows
Indian postings carrying a salary figure: 53,731
Across 41 roles, 53,731 Indian postings carried a salary figure. That is the sample every Indian number on this page rests on, and it is not the number of jobs — most postings state no pay at all. Of the figures that do exist, 0% are Adzuna’s estimate for a posting that stated none rather than a number an employer published; we measured that on 250 postings across five roles.
UK postings carrying a salary figure: 294,820
Across 40 roles, 294,820 UK postings carried a salary figure. That is the sample every UK number on this page rests on, and it is not the number of jobs — most postings state no pay at all. Of the figures that do exist, 29% are Adzuna’s estimate for a posting that stated none rather than a number an employer published; we measured that on 250 postings across five roles.
US postings carrying a salary figure: 1,191,809
Across 43 roles, 1,191,809 US postings carried a salary figure. That is the sample every US number on this page rests on, and it is not the number of jobs — most postings state no pay at all. Of the figures that do exist, 70% are Adzuna’s estimate for a posting that stated none rather than a number an employer published; we measured that on 250 postings across five roles.
Advertised pay rose fastest for cloud engineers in the UK
Over 2025-08 to 2026-07, the largest rises in the monthly average were cloud engineer in the UK (+28.7%), customer support in India (+22.5%), financial analyst in the UK (+17.6%), social media manager in India (+17.2%), digital marketing manager in India (+17.1%). The largest falls were content writer in the US (-33.6%), accountant in the US (-8.5%), machine learning engineer in the US (-5.0%), digital marketing manager in the UK (-5.0%), ios developer in the US (-4.4%). A year of posting averages is a weak signal on its own — it moves with the seniority mix being hired as much as with pay, and it carries the same estimated share as everything else here — so this ranks what the postings did, not what anybody's salary did.
In the UK, 16 of 40 roles have most of their salary figures in an open-ended top band
For software engineer, ui/ux designer, devops engineer, data scientist, machine learning engineer, frontend developer and others, at least 40% of UK postings carry a figure in the highest band the source reports, which has no ceiling. Any "average UK salary" quoted for these roles is being computed against an unbounded tail, and the honest statement is the share above the threshold rather than a mean.
In the US, 19 of 43 roles have most of their salary figures in an open-ended top band
For software engineer, product manager, ui/ux designer, devops engineer, data scientist, machine learning engineer and others, at least 40% of US postings carry a figure in the highest band the source reports, which has no ceiling. Any "average US salary" quoted for these roles is being computed against an unbounded tail, and the honest statement is the share above the threshold rather than a mean.
Every role, side by side
Ranked by the midpoint of the salary figures. "Lower quarter" is the figure a quarter of postings fall below, "upper quarter" the figure a quarter exceed; "at least X" means that quartile sits inside the source's open-ended top band. The 12-month column is the change in the monthly average and is only shown where a full window exists.

The data itself
Every figure in the tables above, as a CSV: one row per role per country, with the quartiles, the sample size, the twelve-month change, the measurement date and the query behind it. Aggregates only — the underlying postings belong to the source, not to us.
Download the CSV (43 roles × 3 markets)
If you are writing about a single role, the per-role pages carry the full distribution and the employer counts behind it, and are more useful to your reader than this summary. If you need a cut we do not publish — a different country, a narrower job title, a longer window — ask. We would rather produce it than have the figure guessed at.
Method, and what this cannot tell you
What was measured. Salary bands, twelve-month averages and employer counts for 43 roles across India, the UK and the US, from the Adzuna jobs API, which aggregates published job postings. 1,540,360 postings carrying a salary figure sit behind these numbers. Data refreshed 2026-08-25; page built 2026-09-01.
Not all of it is advertised. This is the limitation that matters most, and the one this page nearly got wrong. Adzuna calculates a salary for postings that state none, and its histogram counts those alongside real ones. Sampling 250 postings across five roles per market, the share of salary figures that are estimated rather than stated is India 0%, the UK 29%, the US 70%. Calling all of this "advertised salaries" would have been false for two of the three markets, so it is not called that anywhere here.
Postings, not payroll. Even the stated figures are what employers publish, not what anyone receives. Most postings state no pay at all, and the ones that do skew towards agency, contract and public-sector listings where quoting a band is normal practice. Treat every figure as describing the posted market — which is the market you negotiate against, and worth knowing — rather than the labour market.
Bands, not points. The source reports counts per salary band. A quartile can only be placed inside a band, so single figures here are linear interpolations within the containing band, and where a quartile falls in the open-ended top band the page says "at least" rather than inventing a ceiling. No median on this page is accurate to the last digit and none is presented as if it were.
Queries are stated. Each role maps to one search string, shown on that role's own page. A figure is only as specific as its query: where the natural search term is broad, a narrower one was used for the salary data than for the job listings, precisely so the number describes the role the page names.
Floors. No role-market pair appears with fewer than 40 postings behind it. Twelve-month movement is only reported where a full eleven-month window and at least 200 postings exist. Roles that clear neither are absent rather than caveated.
Corrections. If a figure here is wrong, tell us and it gets fixed and noted. Nothing on this page is patched silently.
